It is now accepted that, in addition to direct hazards from infectious diseases and environmental toxins, human behaviors play a critical role in determining human health. The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not just the absence of disease or infirmity*.” We have choices to make; where we live, how we spend our time and what we do with our bodies. These are the factors that will determine our health.
